Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has released the Phd admission notification, and inviting online applications from eligible candidates who wants to take admission in Ph. D, M.Phil and integrated Ph. D courses in BHU for the academic year 2017. To provide admission BHU organizes the Research Entrance Test (RET) 2017. BHU RET is a paper-pen test conducted to offer admission to candidates in Ph.d program in BHU.

Exam Name: Research Entrance Test (RET) 2017

BHU RET contains three stages they are

  • Test A: This test is conducted to test the assess Logical and Analytical Capability of candidates
  • Test B: This test is conducted to test the assess Subject Knowledge of candidates
  • Test C: This test is conducted to test the Research proposal and Personal Interview

To seek admission in Ph.D candidates requires to passed the each stage of this exam.

Eligibility for BHU RET:- 

Faculty of Agriculture:-

(a) Educational qualification : A candidate should have Master’s degree in Agriculture/Science (M.Sc (Ag.)/ M.Sc.) in the relevant  discipline with B.Sc. (Ag.) 4 years degree OR Master’s degree in Agriculture/ Science (M.Sc (Ag.)/ M.Sc.) in any one of the related subjects/disciplines with B.Sc. (Ag.) 4 years degree

M.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering/M.E. (Agricultural Engineering) or equivalent degree in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering/ Soil and Water Engineering/ Irrigation and Drainage Engineering/Water Resources Engineering or M.Sc. (Ag.) in Soil and Water Conservation to seek admission in Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering

M.Sc. in Agricultural Statistics/ M.Sc.(Ag.)/ M.Sc. in Statistics for Admission in Ph. D. in Agricultural Statistics.

Faculty of Performing Arts:-

(a) Educational Qualification:

Musicology OR M.Mus. OR M.A. in Music

OR

Master’s Degree in any one of the following examinations:. Sangeet Visharad Examination of A. B. Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai (b) Sangeet Prabhakar Examination of Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. (c).  B.Mus.Sangeet Visharad Examination of Bhatkhande Vidyapeeth, Lucknow (d) Sangeet Vid Examination of Indra Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, M.P. (e)  B.Mus. (Prabhakar) Examination of Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan, Jaipur  (f) Sangeet Visharad Examination of Shankar Gandharva Vidyalaya, Gwalior. (g) Sangeet Ratna Examination of M. P. Government OR

(b) Qualifying Marks: Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

For Sanskrit Vidya Dharm Vigyan Sankay

(a) Educational qualification:- Acharya degree in the relevant  subject

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Commerce:-

(a) Qualifying Examination:-

Master of Finance and Control (M.F.C.)/ Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com.)/ Master of Financial Management (MFM) / Master of Business Management (M.B.M.), / Master of Financial Management (Risk & Insurance) (MFMRI)/ Master of Risk and Insurance Management (MRIM)/ Master of Foreign Trade (MFT)/ Master of Business Administration OR in related stream like  M.A. in Psychology, Economics, Chartered Accountancy (C.A.) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Indiathe Company Secretaryship of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (I.C.S.I.)., , Costs & Works Accountancy of the Institute of Costs & Works Account ants of India (I.C.W.A.I.),

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Management Studies:-

(a) Qualifying Examination:- Management Studies/ Management Sciences (M.M.S.), Master’s degree in Business Management (M.B.M.), Business Administration (M.B.A.), International Business (M.I.B.), International Business Administration (M.I.B.A.), M.B.A. (Agri-Business)

OR

Two years PG diploma in Management from any one of the Indian Institutes of Management (I.I.Ms)/

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 60% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Law:-

(a) Qualifying Examination: Master’s Degree in the relevant  discipline.

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Education:-

(a) Qualifying Examination:-

M.A. (Education)/  M.Ed./ Master’s degree in Special Education [M.Ed. (Special)]

OR

Masters degree in any one of the following subjects (Philosophy, Indian Philosophy and Religion, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, History, Psychology,)

(b) Qualifying Marks: Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Medicine:-

(a) Qualifying Examination:-

Master of Surgery (M.S.)/ Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)/ Doctoratus of Medicinus (D.M.)/ Diplomate of National Board (D.N.B)/ Magister Chirurgiae (M.Ch.) in the relevant subject recognized by the Medical Council of India.

OR

M.Sc. in the relevant  subject

OR

Master’s degree in any one of the related subjects.

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Ayurveda:-

(a) Educational qualification

From any recognized CCIM candidates should have completed M.D.(Ay.)/ M.S.(Ay.) OR Master’s degree in any one of the related subjects.

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

Faculty of Dental Sciences:-

(a) Educational qualification :

Candidates should have Master’s Degree in Dental Surgery or Master’s degree in any one of the related subjects.

(b) Qualifying Marks:- Candidates should have scored at least 55% marks A or equivalent grade

BHU RET Registration / Application Form

BHU RET 2017 Online Application Form / Registration:-

Candidates can apply online application for BHU RET 2016 at www.bhuonline.in

Candidates has to fill the application through online mode only

After completing of filing application make the fee payment through online mode by using credit card/ debit card through the payment gateway available on the Entrance test portal.

BHU RET 2017 Pattern and Syllabus:-

TEST–A: Assessment of Logical and Analytical Capability:- 

Questions are from logical and analytical thinking, general knowledge, quantitative ability, knowledge of computer usages and language skills.

Test– A is preliminary and who clears the Test A will be qualified for next level test.

This test contains 60 MCQs as follows:

10 questions for testing quantitative ability

10 questions for testing logical thinking

10 questions for testing awareness of computer usages

10 questions for testing general knowledge

20 questions for testing language skills (this includes 3 subjects Sanskrit, Hindi and English. You can answer any two subject questions)

Total 180 marks with time duration 60 min

Each question holds 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

To pass this Test A candidate should score atleast 30% approximately 54 marks.

Those who qualifies Test A will be eligible for further stage Test that is Test B.
